A NEW MISSION : 31 COUNTRIES FOR 31 DAYS

I am excited about something new coming up in my blog.

A new month is on its way and I find a coincidence with the number of countries I have wandered outside my homeland, India.

I was making a schedule for the month of May and I realised that I have traveled in 31 countries outside India. So for the coming 31 days of the Month of May, I will share my experience in those 31 countries in pictures.

HURRRAYYY!! 31 COUNTRIES FOR 31 DAYS

A LITTLE MATH FOR 2013

2013 = 15

Very briefly, here is the math. Like the year 2012, when I traveled in 12 new countries, I had wished to repeat the trend for 2013 too. So was it repeated at all? Lets see :)

The year started with a positive note and in the very 3rd month, I stepped out on a long journey. I had plans to go 9 new countries and I went to 8. Then was a bit of rest and again I headed to 3 new countries. In all it was 11 new countries. It was not 13 new countries for the 13th year of 21st century. But this year, I realized that rediscovering the places we have been is as interesting as the new places. I might not have lived with the trend but it was more exciting to re visit the countries. So, I found a new math to equal my travel in the year 2013.

So I re visited 4 counties if we exclude my own country India where I quite did not travel this year.

New countries : 11
1. Brazil
2. Argentina
3. Chile
4. Uruguay
5. Bolivia
6. Peru
7. Equador
8. Colombia
9. Singapore
10. Philippines
11. Myanmar

Countries revisited : 4
1. Qatar
2. Malaysia
3. Thailand
4. Cambodia

2013 sums up to 2+0+1+3 = 6
The countries I have been sums up to 15 = 1+5 = 6

Hence, 2013(Year) = 15(Countries)

I am getting obsessed with numbers, isn't it ?
The answer is I am travel-hungry ;)

20 + 12 = 2012

I like numbers. Numbers are magical and there is a meaning to each and every one. We just have to make the connection.

2012, for example. A year full of travels, experiences and so many stories.

During the 12th year of the new century, I stepped into 12 new countries:

01 | Sri Lanka
02 | Malaysia
03 | Laos
04 | France
05 | Switzerland
06 | Italy
07 | Germany
08 | Portugal
09 | Spain
10 | Turkey
11 | Jordan
12 | UAE

Beside the above, I found another fun fact with numbers and countries: if I add everytime I crossed a non-indian border, no matter if its a new country or not... let's see what happens.

1 time into Sri Lanka;
4 times into Malaysia;
1 time into Laos;
1 time into Indonesia;
1 time into France;
3 times into Switzerland;
1 time into Italy;
1 time into Germany;
2 times into Portugal;
1 time into Spain;
1 time into Turkey;
1 time into Jordan;
1 time into UAE;
1 time into Thailand.

Adding all these entries... the number of times I visited another country outside India was 20, this last year.

Hence the title:

20 + 12 = 2012
