TO OUR DEAREST MADIBA

MADIBA is the nickname for Nelson Mandela.

A leader who became inspiration for everybody. He is equivalent to Mahtama Gandhi of India or Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam. A leader who tried to eradicate apartheid from South Africa.

He was suffering from lung infection for a long time now. Today came the sad news of his demise.

South Africa is a country which is mix of ethnicity for it has been colonized by many European nations like Netherlands, UK, migrants from Malaysia, India and native African. I feel ashamed to mention these words but there are people of all skin colours and regions and even today there is discrimination for the skin colours. But at least today its illegal.

But it has come long way from what it was. It was only possible for all the efforts from the people to fight it and Nelson Mandela was one of the highest visionary to combat this biggest social problem.

The leader who lived 95 years was imprisoned for 28 long years of his life. As my tribute to this great leader I would share my experience of visiting Robben Island where he was imprisoned  for 18 years. While I was in Cape Town, South Africa; I always saw this beautiful island from my window. I had read about Nelson Mandela and his life in this island in school. So I decided to take a tour to this island. It was a sad feeling to be there to see how people were treated like hell just for their skin colour.
