SHOPPING PILGRIMAGE : BANGKOK

BANGKOK is famous for different reasons to different tourists. People spend their time here partying, eating out, clubs , sightseeing and shopping.

This time in Bangkok I realised how much one could shop. I literally shopped everywhere in the streets, Kao San Road, Silom, Siam and the best was CHATUCHAK WEEKEND MARKET.

I went to chatuchak weekend market with my friend and I was completely lost i.e what I could buy. I wanted to buy everything. In the beginning it was just checking things and later when we started buying then there was no stop.

Its a quite planned market starting from Section 1 to Section 21 laid like a twisted horse shoe. Those small shops on both side of the crossing lanes were like a world in its own way. Every shop has a theme. Some shops selling T shirts of airlines, beer brands of the world, only Bob Marley and some were selling everything with Vespa theme, brand new shoes and second hand shoes aswell. Shops for Buddha and everything to make your house beautiful.

Its not only about shopping, it also caters food to all taste, barbequed pork, Prawn chops, frozen banana dipped in chocolate and cashews, Coconut icecream with corn and pumpkin and much more.

You just keep walking and walking without even looking where you are walking exactly like a pilgrim, who wants to attain peace but not sure what gets him peace.

A big MAZE and why not if I am shopping there for four hours and realise in the end that I have been here in my previous visits to Bangkok. Really a Maze.
