TRAVEL WOES # 1

WHY PRINT TICKET FOR THE AIRPORT :

Last time I was at Bangalore International Airport, unfortunately I forgot or did not manage to print my ticket. But I knew that I the ticket in my Phone.

I arrived at the gate,

Officer : Sir you ticket please.
I : Sorry I could not print. But I have it here in my phone.
Officer : But we need a printed ticket to let you in.
I : Okay I understand that, But my phone screen is big enough and the printed ticket would be saying the same.
Officer : Sorry Sir, As per the rules by airport authority, we cannot let you inside without physical ticket.
I : But, please try to understand, I do not have the ticket and it is E - Ticket , isnt it?
Officer : We are very sorry sir, Please leave the cue. If you wish, you could print the ticket at the airlines counter and bring us physical ticket.
I : Ok! Thanks. while I was wondering to ask the Officer, if he could define "Physical Ticket"

Yes, this was not the first time. Happened twice before . But the Airlines also started to make good money by charging 100 INR for a sheet to be printed.

Again back to the cue,

Officer : All smiles, so this is the real ticket.
I : Yes after 100 INR for a sheet.
Officer : But this should be 50 INR ! Giggles to express, this one got cheated
I :  Wow!!

It pinched more now. Why we have to print tickets. Why we bring this sheet when we have it in our phone. Everywhere around the world do not ask for it. Every where people are equally paranoid. Just because we can not manage with security. So we have a hideous rule.

The Trains in India accept E ticket. But we get choked at an International Airport. We promote at the airport to keep it clean, to conserve energy, to plant trees etc. So are we saving trees like this ?

For a big country like India, How many people fly? Surely if not more we cut 10 trees every day.

Why isn't the security equipped to check on our PNR no. THIS HAS TO CHANGE.
